Disaster Assistance Fund

Tuition & Diagnostic Assistance

The Disaster Assistance Fund was established to assist the community in the aftermath of a natural disasters. In the past, the fund has been used to help in the aftermath of flooding and storms. Currently, our focus is on assisting those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.  As the city moves into the recovery phase following this devastating storm, our efforts have focused specifically on helping families affected by autism and special needs schools and programs that serve the autism community.

Our current round of assistance has been funded by a grant from the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, which was established by Mayor Turner and Harris County Judge Emmett and is administered by the Greater Houston Community Foundation. To be eligible for assistance through this program, applicants must reside in the City of Houston and/or Harris County.
